Now
What has my attention this month. Updated when it stops being true — last time in August 2026.
- Building
- The keyboard layer for Aster — every action reachable without a pointer, which is harder than it sounds once dragging is involved.
- Writing
- A longer piece on dark-mode colour systems, which has been three weeks from finished for about two months.
- Learning
- Enough WebGPU to know whether it is the right tool for a thing I keep almost starting.
- Reading
- Christopher Alexander's Notes on the Synthesis of Form, slowly, for the second time.
- Away from the desk
- Running the coast road most mornings, and failing to keep a sourdough starter alive for a fourth time.
This is a now page. The idea is Derek Sivers': one page that says what you are actually doing, so that people who have not spoken to you in two years do not have to guess.
